Marketing & Media

As a County Sports Partnership, we regularly bring together the leisure departments of the five districts in West Yorkshire for 'marketing and media' meetings.

These friendly quarterly get-togethers allow us to catch up on what we are all doing with regard to publicising our sport and physical activity provisions and to share ideas and good practice.

Recently we have been inviting PCTs along to see what areas we had in common and how we could help each other push natural solutions for the problems of self indulgence and promote active pathways to a healthy future.

It has long been my belief that there is scope for sharing ideas resources with the possible view to devising and promoting a single, cross-county message.

We have on our WYS staff professional photographers and designers and would be able to execute bespoke ideas dreampt up between us.
  
These largely informal meetings take place at Sport England's offices in Leeds Sport England - Yorkshire, 4th Floor, Minerva House, East Parade, Leeds, LS1 5PS

5. Volunteering project - There is a constant need to encourage more volunteers into action.
WYS are considering producing a DVD to promote interest/awareness/understanding of volunteering
It appears the exec is making appreciative noises about cross county cooperation, is this a project we can all buy into and work together on? We have the creative skills between us to create and deliver a marketing campaign, all we need is the will to work together and wherewithall to cover promotion costs.
 
6. Could we look at ways in which different Organisations are promoting and Marketing walking groups etc?  We are currently looking at a new model for walking in Leeds and would be very interested to see how others are attacking this!!! (Alex Hammond - Leeds PCT)
