Easy Riders Take the Trans-Pennine Trail in April
Kirklees Easy Riders - the group for people new to cycling - will be riding a section of the Trans-Pennine Trail on Saturday, April 5.
Anyone interested in joining the ride should meet members of Huddersfield Cycle Touring Club, which runs Easy Riders in partnership with Kirklees Culture and Leisure Services, at 10am at the car park at Windle Edge, off Dunford Road, Dunford Bridge, which is south of Holmfirth near Winscar Reservoir.
The group will cycle to Penistone where there will be a refreshment stop at a cafe before returning to Dunford Bridge.
The ride, which will be mainly flat and on tracks, is expected to take around two hours. Any bicycle apart from a racing bike will be suitable.
Cyclists should bring money to purchase refreshments as well as basic tools and warm and waterproof clothing in case of bad weather.
