Calderdale Activity Network
The Calderdale Activity Network (CAN) was formally launched in June 2007.
The CAN is a partnership network for people and organisations with an interest in the provision and development of physical activity in Calderdale.
The network will, in time, include a number of local area networks or activity specific alliances that will assist in the delivery of area plans and strategies and will act as forums where both specific and more general issues can be raised.
A Management Group has been appointed and includes representatives from the following areas or organisations –
• Calderdale Primary Care Trust
• Calderdale MBC
• Community Forum
• Voluntary Sector
• Disability Sport
• Women and Girls Sport
• Black and Other Minority Ethnicity Sport
• Further Education
• Schools
• Older People
• Commercial Sector
• Local Area Agreement Health Inequalities Group
• West Yorkshire Sport
Additional representation to cover other important areas of sport and physical activity in Calderdale will be discussed by the Management Group in September 2007.
A series of Local Area Networks will be developed in due course to cover the whole of Calderdale.
