Regional Performance & Development Coordinator (Sheffield)
As part of the modernisation of the sport of athletics in readiness for Olympic success, England Athletics has been formed into nine regions including Yorkshire and Humberside. The region contains a small professional regional team, which under the Regional Manager works with the Regional Council to deliver the Regional Development Plan for the region.

Yorkshire and Humberside Region – Sheffield Based
£21,000 to £29,000 per annum, plus company car
To implement this plan, the Yorkshire & Humberside region requires a Performance & Development Coordinator (PDC) to provide effective support and liaison with local clubs, sporting bodies & education establishments to enable the delivery and development of athletics programmes & initiatives throughout the region. The PDC will also co-ordinate key regional development initiatives and be able to monitor & evaluate their success.
The successful candidate for the post will need to demonstrate a proven track record within sport, along with being a good negotiator capable of working with a range of key partners and stakeholders. To be successful, the PDC will communicate with and motivate key professionals and a much larger team of volunteers. In order to liaise with the voluntary sector the role does require a commitment to occasional evening and week-end work. Mobility within the region will be essential, as will a demonstrated record of successful sports development work and/or a background in the sport as a volunteer or paid professional.
Knowledge of athletics (development and performance) will be a positive advantage within the role and a real enthusiasm for an athlete-centred approach will be essential. The ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets will be an absolute key to success.
