This is post is a Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2011 and the salary is negotiable within the range.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated and innovated individual to make a big impact in West Yorkshire. The postholder will lead the implementation of competition frameworks resulting in thousands of young people across the county participating in high quality competitions.
The postholder will operate at a strategic level working closely with partners across the West Yorkshire Sports Partnership including governing bodies of sport, local authorities, regional agencies and school sports partnerships. The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate the work of 9 competition managers working across the 18 school sports partnerships.
We are looking for someone with highly developed interpersonal skills who is able to lead the development and implementation of multi agency projects. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate real achievements in previous leadership roles and will understand the need to balance strategic and local priorities. The postholder will have previous experience of working within schools and / or sports development and have an in depth knowledge of contemporary issues in school and community sport.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure will be required for this post. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
Interviews to be held week commencing 14 April 2008.
Salaries and Conditions of Service are subject to review pending implementation of Single Status.
