Disability group to get out and about in West Yorkshire
Open Country is a Harrogate-based charity that seeks to enable people with disabilities to access the countryside. We run a wide range of countryside activities including cycling, walking and various other outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, caving and abseiling.
We also offer a service providing countryside advice, information and training in relation to disabled access to the countryside. We are now looking to expand into the West Yorkshire area. We are aware it is a very big place and would like to hear from anyone who thinks that their particular area could benefit from the Open Country approach.
Equally, please tell us if countryside activities in your area already cater for people with disabilities, so that we do not waste resources. Please contact David Shaftoe or Sam Parkhouse and we will be happy to talk things over with you.
