This month we take a look at the up and coming sport of Touch Rugby.
With all the fast paced action of rugby, but with no heavy contact, this antiopdean import could prove as popular as Neighbours due to its family appeal.
This is proving a real success - very popular with a mix of participants enjoying this fun, non-contact game under the expert tuition of the Huddersfield Giants' Community Coaches.
"We are working in conjunction with Kirklees ‘Sport 4 Life’ to achieve greater numbers of adults getting back involved with sport, said Ryan. "We are able to attract adult of both sexes into this new minimum contact sport. The demographics of the group is diverse - there are a larger number of over 45’s (male & female) enjoying the relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere we have created."
West Yorkshire Sport headed on down to The Zone in Huddersfield to meet Giants community coaches Ryan and Mick and find out what its all about....
Sessions are held at:
The Zone Wednesdays 8.00-10.30pm.
8.00 - 8.30 - free skills development
8.30 - 9.30 - games session (15 min games)
9.30 -10.30 - games session (15 min games)
Price per session - £4.50 (individual) or £27.00 (team of 6 playing - max 10 rotating subs)
