Leeds United February 2010 Holiday Courses
It’s a new year and things are looking up for Leeds United. The first team are riding high in League 1 and our Football in the Community department has the February half term coaching courses to look forward to. There will be courses running in Alwoodley, Wakefield, Knaresborough and Knottingley in the February 2010 half term holiday, with four day courses from 15th to 18th February. Our courses are open to players of all abilities. Children aged from 5 to 12 years old and both boys and girls are welcome.
Our Leeds United coaching team have extensive experience working with all ages and abilities and are all FA qualified and CRB checked. The courses will focus on a range of skills from basic techniques for the beginner and advanced drills for the more competent players, all performed and taught in a fun and safe environment.
The combination of fun games and drills along with the teaching of techniques and matches, allows the children to progress as footballers. Essential skills like passing, dribbling, shooting and defending will be focused on, with new and innovative coaching drills set out by our coaches, designed to develop the player’s technique and also build their confidence as they work with children of similar ages.
To build confidence in players, it’s not enough to just have a great curriculum with the best people teaching it. You have to teach the techniques and tactics in a way that motivates the players to want to practice and improve.
During the week there will be an opportunity to win trophies for penalty shoot-outs and best attitudes and on the final day a world cup tournament will be played with the chance to win a medal.
In addition to this, every player will receive a certificate of attendance and a special gift from Leeds United. Leeds United Football in the Community courses are the only official courses run by Leeds United Football Club open to boys and girls. We are a non profit
making and grass roots organisation, for which any surpluses are ploughed back into the operation and expansion of the future of Leeds United Football
in the Community Scheme. All holiday courses include quality coaching, certificate, chance to win a trophy, competition and each child will receive a gift!
