Train with Jog Kirklees for 10K Challenge
There is just over three weeks to go to the second Kirklees 10k Challenge, being held in and around Leeds Road Sports Complex, Huddersfield, on Sunday, September 13.
Because of the fairly flat route, organisers are hoping to attract beginners to 10k running as well as experienced runners who want a good time for the distance. Everyone will be able to get an accurate time as participants will be 'chipped' for the event.
The 10k Challenge, being staged by Kirklees Council and starting at 9am, is for runners aged 16 and over. It is being run on a mix of fields, greenway and pavements, with the finish on the running track. The entry fee is £7 (attached to a UK Athletics club) and £9 (unattached).
There is also be a 2k fun run for ages 8 and over, starting at 9.20am, which is being held around the playing fields at the sports complex. The entry fee is £3.
Full details of the 10k route, including the start and finish, the 2k fun run route and an entry form are available on the Kirklees Council website, www.kirklees.gov.uk/10kchallenge. Entries can be submitted online or posted and will also be accepted up to 8.40am on the day.
