International Amateur Boxing Tournament fundraiser for Kirklees Youth Games
A select junior amateur boxing team representing Cyprus is coming to the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield to face a junior team representing Kirklees. The Kirklees team will chosen from members of 3 boxing clubs: Cleckheaton Police Boxing Academy Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) , Rawthorpe ABC and Huddersfield University ABC
Friday May 30, 7.00 pm in the English Partnership Suite at the Galpharm Stadium.
In addition to the boxing at this black tie event, there will be a gala dinner - 3 course meal and coffee - a raffle and an auction of sporting memorabilia. The purpose of the event, as well as presenting the opportunity to see some quality amateur boxing, is to raise money for the Kirklees Youth Games Sporting Legends Fund.
Tickets for this event are priced at £40 each or £375 for a table of 10 and those present will be able to mingle with some of our Kirklees' Sporting Legends who are being invited for the evening.
For local businesses there are still opportunities to get involved through sponsorship of the event, the kit and individual bouts. For details contact Jim Beattie on 01484 234 093 (Mobile 07870 596 125)

About the Sporting Legends Fund
The fund was set up in 2007 to assist up-and-coming sports stars by awarding grants of up to £100 towards future costs.
The first award was made to Huddersfield swimmer Katy Venters (16), who has been chosen for the 2012 Olympic Games potential squad for swimming.
The fund was instigated with a gala dinner that raised £4,000 and is backed by Kirklees' Sporting Legends from a range of sports including Huddersfield Town footballer Andy Booth and Europro Tour golfer Chris Hanson, Olympic bronze medallist and world record breaker Derek Ibbotson, Olympian cyclist Lisa Brambani, and Olympian fencer James Williams.
Awards have been capped at £100 so the fund can help a greater number of young sports men and women in the wide range of sports in which young people in Kirklees are currently making a names for themselves - from gymnastics, athletics and cycling to tennis, motor sports and show jumping.
