Let's Get Healthy in Wakefield

29th July 2009

If you are stuck for things to do to keep the children entertained this Summer how about taking them along to the "Let's Get Healthy" specially designed Summer schools?

Wakefield council are offering free places to children who receive free school dinners and NHS Wakefield District Physical Activity Project are offering subsidised places for everyone else at a cost of £5 per day or £20 per week.
The Let's get Healthy "jump on board " programme is the only programme that supports children, their parents & the wider community at the same time, helping them to learn about healthy eating, physical activity & lifestyle in a fun and inclusive way.

The Summer school runs from 3rd August - 7th August, 9am - 3pm .Children can attend all week or single days also. The Summer School is taking place at Ackton Pastures Primary school, Castleford.

The children will have fun both playing games and learning and every day they take home a free health related gift.

Let's Get Healthy Managing Director Maria Bourke said "Let's Get Healthy is thrilled to be starting the Summer school programme in Wakefield and grateful to the funding bodies for making it possible. We would encourage all parents to come down and meet the team at the end of each day and get involved with the programme".
