Promoting Physical Activity with Older People seminar

A Guide to Leading Edge Practice and what you can do to help. Spring 2008 Programme of  Regional seminar events

A series of 9 regional one-day workshop style seminars are planned to provide participants with updates on evidence, research, information and practice and the opportunity to examine how this information can be used to enhance their own programme development and effectiveness. Topics to be covered during the day will include:-

• Update on evidence and the latest recommendations – the rationale for interventions
• Turning evidence into practice – the BHF National Centre Guidelines on Older People and Physical Activity
• Effective programming for older people – using the Working Papers
• Evaluation – how do we know we’re successful ?

The programme will draw upon key learning and evidence from the recently published re-draft of the Active for Later Life Resource and the BHF NC Guidelines on older people and physical activity (both available at www.bhfactive.org)

Participants will have the opportunity to develop and enhance their own programmes and planning using workshop style activities.
 
Each day will run from 9.30 a.m. until 4.15 p.m. and include documentation and refreshments.
