The Welfare and Skills Summit: Getting People Learning, Getting People Working - 28th October
12th May 2009
How will the future of UK welfare, employment and skills provision develop in the face of economic pressures, and how can all stakeholders align their services into one coherent framework?
This major conference will bring together all those involved in the effective delivery of public policy and services in the welfare to work and skills sectors.
Delegates will be given a unique opportunity to be brought up to date on recent legislation and policy by key Westminster figures and panels of experts. Participants will discuss the opportunities and challenges for all providers presented by the new balance of rights and responsibilities in the welfare to work system.
Alongside this will be consideration of existing and future skills requirements of UK employers, and how we can work towards fulfilling these needs. Also prominent within all sessions will be acknowledgement and discussion of the effects and challenges posed by the economic downturn on employment service provision.
Consideration of these key issues by prominent speakers and panellists, along with the networking opportunities this event will present, makes attendance essential for anyone with a serious interest in the development of UK welfare to work and skills landscape.
