Yorkshire Sports Awards 2008
Sport England is delighted to announce that, following the success of our association with the BBC Yorkshire for the Yorkshire Sports Awards in the past five years, we are again working with them for the 2008 awards.
Achievement Awards:
Nominations for these awards are in seven categories, to recognise the personal achievements of juniors, seniors and teams, able bodied and athletes with disabilities. Simply complete the attached form and return by the closing date of Friday 17 October 2008
Volunteers in Sport:
Sport England and the BBC recognise the enormous contribution made by volunteers to sport in Yorkshire. To make a nomination in this category go to the BBC Website for further information
Nominations will be accepted from governing bodies of sport, schools and specialist sports colleges, local authorities and district sports councils, or from any organisation or individual. Nomination forms will also be available on-line from our website, www.sportengland.org/yorkshire

Categories for Awards are:
Sports Achievement: best regional performers in the following categories:
Junior Boy
Junior Girl
Top Male Achiever
Top Female Achiever
Junior Team
Senior Team
Disability
RULES:
• One nomination is permitted in each of the above categories
• Junior Boy/Girl U18 years of age on 31 October 2008
• County/Regional teams may be entered in the appropriate Senior or Junior U18s category
• Club or school teams may be entered in the appropriate Senior or Junior U18s category
• All members of Junior teams must be U18 on 31 October 2008
• Performances between 1 October 2007 to 30 September 2008 are eligible
• 2007 winners are not eligible for nomination
Volunteers in Sport:
Nominations in this category are to recognise the enormous contribution given by this army of unsung hero’s to sport in Yorkshire and is open to all volunteers, administrators, coaches, officials or any committed helpers!
Nominations in all categories will be accepted from any organisation or individual.
The decision of the BBC judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into
