You are invited to the Vision 5k - a run with a difference
There are approx 4000 people in the North of England who have a serious impairment of both vision and hearing. Some of these people are completely deaf and blind, but many have some remaining use of one or both senses. A further one in six people over the age of 60 experience some degree of combined sight and hearing problems.
Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. We provide expert advice and information as well as specialist services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. In addition, we support people who have a sensory impairment with additional disabilities.
Most of us take for granted the sights and sounds around us, but imagine what it is like for someone who is Deafblind, well now is your chance as Sense are inviting you to take part in Vision 5k.
The event is unique as we are inviting you to run/walk with a friend around Roundhay Park, the difference with this event is that one of you will be blindfolded and rely entirely on your friend to guide you around the course safely and don’t worry as at the half way point you change around. It promises to be a lot of fun and the event is open to families, groups and businesses and all funds raised will help Deafblind people in the North.
So if you would like to take part in a run with a difference and what promises to be a lot of fun or you would simply like to find out more please call 0113 205 9500 or email vision5kuk@sense.org
