Help make Sport's voice heard - Consultation on the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006
15th November 2007
The Department for Children, Schools and Families have this week launched their second phase of public consultation on the Independent Safeguarding Authority Scheme.
This is the plan to introduce a disclosure scheme which will cover all those working with children and vulnerable adults, both paid workers and volunteers, which will cover all sectors (health, education, social care, culture and leisure, voluntary and faith sectors).
Consultation events have already been held with CSPs and NGBs, and the Independent Safeguarding Authority are currently running a series of public information sessions across the country.
To take part in the consultation visit http://www.dfes.gov.uk/consultations/conDetails.cfm?consultationId=1516 or for more information call Rachel Firth at West Yorkshire Sport on 01484 234087.
