Leeds Tigers make National U13 Final Four

Leeds Tigers U13 Basketball team continued there record breaking season by comprehensively beating York 56-21 to take them to the 1st ever National Final Fours.

The Tigers are the first ever West Yorkshire team to be represented at this prestigious tournament and will fight it out with teams from London and the North West to see who will be crowned National Champions.

Leeds Tigers 56 – York Vikings 21
Tigers got off to a sluggish start with turnovers and a strong York defence allowing York to get into a 6-4 lead. The Tigers then got into their groove and intense transition offence and defence put York under massive pressure. Leeds scored the last 8 points of the quarter and went up 12-6 after 10 minutes.

Tigers continued their strong play in the 2nd quarter and began to dominate at both ends of the floor. S.Forrester scored 5 unanswered baskets and then after a 3-pointer from York, Tigers added another 8pts. Leeds took a 32-11 lead into the half time interval.

Tigers did not let up in the 3rd quarter and with a loud crowd behind them, they scored the next 16 points in a row, leaving York looking for an answer to 48-13 deficit.

Unfortunately no answer was found to Tigers dominance and the final quarter saw an opportunity for the whole squad to get on court and experience top level basketball, while Tigers ran out comprehensive 56-21 winners.

Tigers produced a great team performance with all players contributing on the offensive and defensive ends of the court.
