Saddle up for the Bike Week Cycling Challenge!

How far can the people of West Yorkshire cycle in a week? The answer is up to you!

The gauntlet has been thrown down by Everyday Cycling - British Cycling’s FREE information service aimed at non-competitive cyclists, including commuters, family riders, and fitness riders.

Counties across the country have been selected to log their miles and see how far they can get.

The goal is to for County Sports Partnerships like ourelves and British Cycling to encourage more people to cycle regularly.

All you have to do is log into theCounty area of the Everyday Cycling website and log how many miles you have travelled during the week.

Registration takes only 20 seconds, is FREE and you'll get access to loads of great features and offers.

As well as the function to record miles achieved, the site also has information about how to select a bike, safety, routes and rides, training information, news and other cycling related items.

What is the aim of the campaign?
To find how many miles different counties can ride during Bike Week (16-22 June). This is not a competition between CSPs, but rather stand alone challenges for each county.

Individuals taking part can enter into challenges, e.g. to cycle 100miles in a week, or to cycle the length of the River Thames (215miles) etc.

At the end of the week we will be able to say how many miles your county achieved, and what this is the equivalent of. For example, commuters in my county totalled 10,000miles during Bike Week, equivalent to cycling from London to Beijing.

Miles will be logged onto a dedicated Challenge on the EDC website  - a link will follow shortly

What can I do now?
