Calderdale Yr 7 Girls Tag Rugby Festival
As the weather was just a (LITTLE) on the breezy side with just a few COLD drops of rain the games got swiftly under way.
Seven schools attended, 1 school (Crossley Heath) entered 2 teams to make the number up to 8 teams competing, and this in turn gave us over 70 girls competing on 2 pitches.
Chris Mitchell Calderdale Rugby League Service Area Co-ordinator said this is a fantastic opportunity for the girls play TAG, the girls got stuck in regardless of the cold breeze, everyone had a great time, looking forward to working with them again.
Brighouse High School, who kindly offered us their facilities and 4 Young Leaders (Who were fantastic) narrowly missed out in the final to
North Halifax 1 – 0 and Halifax High and Crossley Heath drawing 0 - 0
in the 3rd place play off.
Many thanks to Chris Mitchell, Brighouse High School, Young Leaders, teachers & staff on the day and also to the coaching staff at Halifax Rugby League for the offer of coaching prior to the competition.
Great Day - THANKS
