Fun day for all at 2012 roadshow - pictures and video

Youngsters and adults of all ages had a chance to catch Olympic fever as the 2012 roadshow paid a visit to Eureka! children' s museum in Halifax at an event today organised in conjunction with Sport England.

Olymic and Paralympic athletes were on hand to share their experiences and encourage others in a range of fun activities from agility and coordination tests to rowing competitions and tests of strength.

The importance of an active lifestyle was demonstrated with checks on blood pressure and BMI (body mass index assesments).

The Minister for Sport Gerry Sutcliffe, also the MP for Bradford South was at the event and in an interview with WYS he said :"We are trying to get people participating in sport because what we want the 2012 games to be is a celebration throughought the UK making sure the regions benefit. I believe today is a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy themselves and understand the practicalities of what we are trying to achieve with 2012".

Also at the event were Olympic diver Leon Taylor and Paralympic table tennis player Catherine Mitton.

On Sunday 19th the roadshow moved on to Xscape in Castleford.
